South African Brawlhalla players have a free route to the world stage. ACGL’s BCX 2026 qualifier will send one local champion to Atlanta for the roughly R3.35 million ($200,000) Brawlhalla World Championship.
The road runs through two online qualifiers and a last-chance event at MTN SHIFT Canal Walk. The first online bracket drew 53 entries on 15 August. Players who missed it still have two ways in: Online Qualifier 2 on 22 August, or the on-site Last Chance Qualifier on 29 August.
Three routes become eight Playoff seats
The structure is simple. Each online qualifier sends its top two players directly to the Playoffs. The Last Chance Qualifier adds four more, creating an eight-player final bracket at Canal Walk.

How the Canal Walk finale works
The on-site Last Chance Qualifier begins with eight GSL-style groups of up to four players. Two players advance from each group, leaving 16 for a single-elimination play-in. The last four standing join the four online qualifiers in the Playoffs.
The eight-player Playoff bracket is double elimination, with every match played as a best-of-five. First place earns South Africa’s BCX 2026 qualification.
Players must be at least 13 years old when they play their first match. Anyone under 18 who reaches the Last Chance Qualifier or Playoffs will need parental consent. The online qualifiers are limited to South African residents, while ACGL says the on-site Last Chance Qualifier is open to anyone attending in person.
What the winner is playing for
BCX 2026 runs from 13 to 15 November at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta. The World Championship carries a roughly R3.35 million ($200,000) prize pool and brings Brawlhalla’s global community together for competition, announcements and the returning cosplay contest.
The rand figure is an approximate conversion at about R16.77 to the US dollar on 14 August 2026. Exchange rates move, and the official prize is denominated in US dollars.
For the local scene, the important number is one. Eight players make the final bracket. One leaves Canal Walk as South Africa’s representative.
