The African Gaming Championship (AGC) returns from 16–19 July 2026 at GrandWest in Cape Town, hosted by the African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL), and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest fixtures on the South African calendar.
The AGC Open carries a guaranteed R150,000 prize pool across six championship titles: Fortnite leads with R40,000 across Solo and Trio, while Valorant, EA FC 26 and Free Fire each carry R30,000. Brawlhalla and Tekken 8 round out the line-up with R10,000 each.
Beyond the open brackets, the event brings school esports finals and international qualification pathways under one roof — exactly the kind of pipeline Cinga exists to feed. Spectator entry is free, so if you’re anywhere near the Cape, there’s no excuse.
Our Winter Community Cup Qualifier fires the same week — double-header weekend for SA esports. See you there.
