The African Gaming Championship (AGC) returns from 16 to 19 July 2026 at GrandWest in Cape Town, hosted by the African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL), and it is one of the biggest fixtures on the South African calendar. The AGC Open carries a guaranteed R150,000+ prize pool across seven championship titles, with school finals and international pathways running under the same roof.

Fortnite leads the pot with R40,000 across Trios and Solos. The EA FC 26 champion gets more than the cash: a direct invite to the MTN Shift Grand Finals, no extra qualifiers required. GrandWest also hosts the Carry1st Africa Cup southern African qualifier finals in Call of Duty: Mobile, a road that leads to Lagos and an international pool of about R490,000 ($30,000), plus the Nitro ASL school finals for the country’s top school squads.
