PS Plus members, July is eating. Sony’s Monthly Games drop for July is live from Tuesday 7 July until Monday 3 August, and it is a proper spread: a blockbuster shooter, a co-op fantasy romp and one of the best indie RPGs of its generation. If you are subscribed, all three cost you nothing extra. Claim them before the window closes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (PS5, PS4)
The headliner. Captain Price and Task Force 141 go after Vladimir Makarov in a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II’s record-breaking campaign. Multiplayer brings back all 16 classic maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 with upgraded graphics and new modes, and the open-world Zombies mode lets squads team up on the biggest Zombies map yet. This is the Cross-Gen Bundle, so PS4 players are not left out. Expect full Mzansi lobbies by the weekend.
For the King II (PS5, PS4)
Queen Rosomon has turned tyrant, and Fahrul needs heroes. This sequel to the much-loved For the King blends tabletop, roguelite and RPG in a four-player co-op adventure that is basically board game night with your crew, except nobody has to pack up the pieces. Solo runs work too, but this one sings with friends.
CrossCode (PS5, PS4)
Do not sleep on this one. A retro-inspired 2D action RPG with 16-bit looks, butter-smooth combat, proper old-school dungeon puzzles and a sci-fi story that grips. It flew under the radar at launch and became a cult favourite for a reason. If you only claim one game to actually finish, make it this.
